A Malaysian gynecologist have invented the world's first unisex condom that can be used both internally and externally.
"Wondaleaf may be the ideal contraception that can revolutionize sexual and reproductive health," said Sabaratnam Arulkumaran, former president of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, according to the Wondaleaf website.
The Wondaleaf Unisex Condom is 0.03 millimeters thick and made of Polyurethane, a medical-grade material found in medical gloves or wound and injury dressings.
Wondaleaf claims that the condom is much safer than other contraceptives at preventing STDs and pregnancy because it covers the entire pubic area, but the company's website does not state how effective it is.
For those who are allergic to latex, the one-size-fits-all condom is an alternative method of contraception. Although it is currently only available in Malaysia, the website claims that it is working to meet standards in other countries in order to make the condom widely available.
