PRESS RELEASE: CONG. NIETO TO RECOGNIZE GAT ANDRESS BONIFACIO: PROPOSED HOUSE RESOLUTIONS

The head of Manila 3rd District Congressman Yul Servo Nieto proposed house resolutions for the recognition of Gat Andres Bonifacio as the father of Philippine revolution and the father of Philippine democracy in celebration of Bonifacio Day.

He proposed the House Resolution no. 01416 - A resolution directing the government of the Republic of the Philippines, through the diplomatic efforts of the Department of Foreign Affairs, to take further steps to recover and preserve the "Katipunan Documents from the Archivo Militar General de Madrid, under the government of Spain.

The purpose of this House Resolution is to obtain the "Katipunan Documents" from Madrid, Spain. Even though, the country has the digitalized copy of the hundreds of important documents, reports and handwritten letters by Gat Andres Bonifacio, Emilio Jacinto, Pio Valenzuela and other Katipunan officials. It also includes the first documents of the "Declaration of Independence" after the three hundred and thirty years of spanish colonization.

The digitalized copies of these important documents are in safe keeping of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines.

The House Resolution no. 2835 - Resolution expressing the recognition of Andres Bonifacio as the first President of the Philippines and Urging the President to institute through the Department of Education(DepEd) and Commission on Higher Education (CHED) significant measures to disseminate and propagate the truth about such fact in history books, elementary, high school, and tertiary education, and other related medium of information.

From the meeting of the representatives of the provinces and other high-ranking officials, decided to have an armed rebellion against the Spaniards, with Gat Andres Bonifacio as the President of the "Haring Bayan Katagalugan" government. The established government has everything necessary to establish a state; has its own form of relations, territory, large population, and sovereignty.

The House Bill no. 10542 - An act of mandating all colleges and universities in the city of Manila whether public or private, to inlcude in their collegiate curricula courses devoted to the life, works, heroism of Gat Andres Bonifacio.

This promotes deeper nationalism and patriotism to the youth of the country by including the writings, works, and life of Gat Andres Bonifacio in their collegiate curricula courses in the univeristies of Manila since Gat Andres Bonifacio is Manileño.

The House Bill no. 10557 - An act establishing the Andres Bonifacio Museum in his hometown of Manila City.

According to Cong.

The man who defended the country deserves to be recognized and defended as well.
