Globe: As the COVID alert level rises, customer service lines remain open.

MANILA, Philippines—Globe Telecom said service channels will remain open to customers as tougher limits are imposed in response to the increased number of COVID-19 cases. Customer assistance Hotline Digital Assistant (02) 7-730-1000 will remain operational, Globe stated in a statement on Thursday (Jan. 6). The company's Facebook and Twitter social media assistance pages will also be available. Customers at home can use Viber to access support channels, according to Globe. Customers from Alabang villages, Ayala Westgrove, Cavite, Cebu, Naga, Legazpi, Davao, and Valenzuela City are currently served by eight Viber communities. Customers can also use the GlobeOne app to register for prepaid promotions, purchase load, and redeem rewards points, as well as the Globe At Home app to see and pay bills, upgrade plans, and more. "Globe ensures customers that professionals are available to assist with internet connection issues within 24-48 hours of receiving a request," the telco giant added. Patients can also take use of a fast-track service offered by KonsultaMD, a portfolio business of Globe's 917Ventures, for only P500 per appointment. The service, which has increased in popularity as a result of movement restrictions during the COVID-19 outbreak, allows patients to see a doctor within five minutes or get their money back. Individuals can pay as little as P60 per month for KonsultaMD, while groups of five can pay as little as P150 per month. In a statement, Cholo Tagaysay, CEO of KonsultaMD, said, "Our scenario has taken away the hesitancy of many Filipinos to test telehealth services." "While our hospitals are overburdened with patients, people are looking for ways to be protected from the virus." "KonsultaMD has evolved into a platform that connects Filipinos to much-needed non-emergency medical consultations," Tagaysay added. From January 5 to January 31, Globe offered free Wi-Fi in certain hospitals across the country through GoWifi. GoWiFi from Globe is also available in approximately 3,700 locations, including supermarkets, malls, local government units, airports, and transportation stations.
