Duterte: People who refuse to get vaccinated, should be barred from entering some public places

by Kristine Doringo

MANILA, Philippines — People who have not been vaccinated against COVID-19, especially those who refuse to get immunized, should be prohibited from restaurants and resorts, President Rodrigo Duterte said in his weekly prerecorded address on Tuesday.

"Everyone should get vaccinated." Those who reject should not be permitted into public restaurants or resorts because they endanger public health and safety," he stated in a combination of Filipino and English.

"Our fellow citizens should understand this." "Everyone should be vaccinated," he added.

Duterte stated that he would support restaurants that refuse to serve unvaccinated customers.

He said this while reminding the public to follow health protocols, especially now that the country has seen a decrease in COVID-19 cases.

Over 33.8 million Filipinos have received all of the required doses of COVID-19, immunizing them against the deadly respiratory illness, while 42.6 million have received at least their first dose.
