DEPED: In-person learning satisfies and proven effective for students

After the implementation of pilot face-to-face classes in some schools in the country, study shows that a big majority of the students were satisfied and proved the effectiveness of in-person learning. As per the survey results conducted by the Department of Education (DEPED), among the surveyed Grades 1 to 3 students, 97% of them were satisfied with their experience of the learning process. While 86% is the satisfaction rating of Senior High School (SHS) students The difference of distance and in-person learning was also compared, since the survey states that Kindergarten to Grade 3 students underwent positive experience and changes during in-person learning methods. Moreover, 91% of the students in SHS agreed that their knowledge and skills are improved by the traditional learning method, since they’re able to do practical exercises that help in the application and familiarity of the information provided to them. Furthermore, the face-to-face classes are also proven to help motivate 82% of the SHS students. With the total of 265 public schools and 22 private schools, and the participation of 12,084 students in the simulation of in-person classes last December 2021. Teachers and students echoed the same concerns about the learning gaps of each students, difficulties in hearing and seeing what's being said and written in front due to face masks and shields, this also includes the behavioral problems for students in lower levels. But overall as per the data provided by the DEPED, the simulation of face-to-face learning is proven to satisfy the students, with the implementation of health and safety protocols for safe and effective learning.
